Netflix Announces Stars of Newest BookTok Romance Adaptation as Viewers Praise 'Chemistry'

Netflix has officially introduced the stars of its newest BookTok adaptation, and fans are already picking up on the chemistry and praising the casting choices. The streamer has officially jumped on the trend of adapting popular romance novels that have gone viral on TikTok, with titles emerging on the platform’s subcommunity, affectionately known as BookTok. Netflix previously found success with adaptations of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Shadow and Bone, and People We Meet on Vacation.

Now, after dropping People We Meet on Vacation earlier this year, Netflix is moving ahead with its planned adaptation of the Hanna Grace novel, Icebreaker. This included introducing fans to the two actors who have been cast in the lead roles: Anastasia “Stassie” Allen and Nate Hawkins.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the streaming giant released a video of the stars – Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos – as they FaceTimed one another and had a flirty exchange. After talking about sharing a rink soon, the pair got flirty, with Jelley asking if she can borrow his jersey and Simos asking if he could borrow her skates. “Too bad I don’t have them yet,” Jelley replied, leading to more playful banter between the two.

In summary, viewers are thrilled with the casting for Icebreaker.
